Apart from this, it is also a custom that Sri Ganesh is worshiped before all the deities. Most people know about this custom, but very few people know why Ganesha is worshiped first . Actually, there should not be any hindrance in any worship, worship, rituals and work, therefore, firstly lord Ganesh-worship is done to get his grace. There is also a legend behind this.
Once a dispute arose among all the gods on which god should be worshiped before all the gods on earth. All the gods started to tell themselves the best. Then Narada ji, seeing this situation, advised all the gods to go to the shelter of Lord Shiva and ask them to answer this question.
When all the gods approached near Lord Shiva , seeing this quarrel between them, Lord Shiva conceived a plan to solve it. He organized a competition. All the gods were asked to sit in their respective vehicles and go around the whole universe. In this competition, whoever revolves around the universe and reaches them, will be considered as the first worshiper.
All the gods set out for their circumambulation with their vehicles. Ganesh ji was also a part of this competition. However, Ganesha, like the other gods, instead of orbiting the universe, completed seven rounds of his parents Shiva-Parvati and stood with folded hands in front of him.
When all the gods returned after doing their own circumambulation, Lord Shiva declared Shri Ganesh victorious in the competition. All the gods were astonished to hear this decision and Shiva started asking God the reason for it.
Then Shivji told him that the parents have been given the highest position in all the universe and all the worlds, which are considered higher than the gods and all the creation. Then all the gods agreed with this decision of Lord Shiva . Since then, Ganesh ji was first considered to be revered.
This is the reason that Lord Ganesha started worshiping among the gods first due to the use of his sharp intellect. Since then, Ganesh Vandan is considered auspicious before every auspicious event or festival. Worshiping Ganesh ji is going to remove all sorrows and bring prosperity. Therefore, all devotees should worship Ganesha with full devotion and faith before every auspicious work.

दरअसल, किसी भी पूजा, उपासना, अनुष्ठान और कार्य में कोई बाधा नहीं होनी चाहिए, इसलिए उनकी कृपा पाने के लिए सबसे पहले भगवान गणेश-पूजा की जाती है। इसके पीछे भी एक पौराणिक कथा है।
एक बार सभी देवताओं के बीच विवाद पैदा हो गया कि धरती पर सभी देवताओं से पहले किस देवता की पूजा की जानी चाहिए। सभी देवता स्वयं को सर्वश्रेष्ठ बताने लगे। तब नारद जी ने इस स्थिति को देखते हुए सभी देवताओं को भगवान शिव की शरण में जाने और उन्हें इस प्रश्न का उत्तर देने की सलाह दी।
जब सभी देवता भगवान शिव के पास पहुंचे, तो उनके बीच हुए इस झगड़े को देखकर, भगवान शिव ने इसे हल करने के लिए एक योजना की कल्पना की। उसने एक प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की। सभी देवताओं को अपने-अपने वाहनों में बैठकर पूरे ब्रह्मांड में घूमने के लिए कहा गया। इस प्रतियोगिता में, जो भी ब्रह्मांड के चारों ओर घूमता है और उन तक पहुंचता है, उसे पहला उपासक माना जाएगा।
सभी देवता अपने वाहनों के साथ परिक्रमा के लिए निकल पड़े। गणेश जी भी इस प्रतियोगिता का हिस्सा थे। हालाँकि, अन्य देवताओं की तरह, गणेश ने ब्रह्मांड की परिक्रमा करने के बजाय, अपने माता-पिता शिव-पार्वती के सात फेरे पूरे किए और उनके सामने हाथ जोड़कर खड़े हो गए।
जब सभी देवता अपनी-अपनी परिक्रमा करके लौटे, तो भगवान शिव ने श्री गणेश को प्रतियोगिता में विजयी घोषित किया। यह निर्णय सुनकर सभी देवता चकित रह गए और शिव ने भगवान से इसका कारण पूछना शुरू कर दिया।
तब शिवजी ने उन्हें बताया कि माता-पिता को समस्त ब्रह्मांड और सभी लोकों में सर्वोच्च स्थान दिया गया है, जिन्हें देवताओं और समस्त सृष्टि से ऊंचा माना जाता है। तब सभी देवता भगवान शिव के इस निर्णय से सहमत हुए। तब से, गणेश जी को पहले पूजनीय माना जाता था।
यही कारण है कि भगवान गणेश ने अपनी तीक्ष्ण बुद्धि के उपयोग के कारण सबसे पहले देवताओं के बीच पूजा शुरू की। तब से, हर शुभ घटना या त्योहार से पहले गणेश वंदन शुभ माना जाता है। गणेश जी की पूजा करने से सभी दुख दूर होते हैं और समृद्धि आती है। इसलिए सभी भक्तों को हर शुभ कार्य से पहले पूरी श्रद्धा और विश्वास के साथ गणेश की पूजा करनी चाहिए।
